Picture retakes is scheduled for tomorrow, March 12th. If your child was absent you can order portraits. Just pick up a flyer in advance from the school office. If you were not satisfied with your child’s portrait, please return the original portraits to the school office and let us know if you want his/her picture retaken.

Although the accreditation process has been positive in a variety of ways for our school and community, it has also been overwhelming financially.

Mock Visit

Mrs. DePasse from Saint John’s and Mr. AbdurRahman from the accreditation steering committee had a mock tour of the school last Friday, March 5th. Both gave positive feedback about the learning sessions, the classroom organization, the respectful school environment. This was one more step we decided to take in order to prepare our community for the upcoming accreditation visit which will take place in 10 days.

On behalf of our school community, we warmly thank Mrs. DePasse and Mr. Abdurahman for their time and helpful feedback.

A Very Colorful Week

During our “School Colors Week”, our students dressed up in yellow and green and brought items of the same colors for show and tell. Students from higher grades wrote descriptions of the items they brought in Arabic. In addition students read and were read to a variety of stories about the two colors.

We especially thank the following alumni volunteers for reading to our students:

Muhammad Xhemalallari

and our parent volunteer, Sana Zawahreh,

in addition to our own seventh and eighth grade students who read to younger grades.

And we thank the Arabic department team and its head, Mrs. Hammad for this program.

Students will be dressed up in their favorite colors, tomorrow!

Visit Tomorrow

We are expecting Dr. Jeanne DePasse from Saint John’s High School and Br. Mohamed Abdur-Rahman to visit us tomorrow in the morning. They will both sit in classes and observe teachers and school business in general. This is meant to be a mock visit in preparation for the accreditation visit.

We thank both of them for taking the time out of their busy schedules to help us with this.

April 1st No school

Please remember that the 1st of April will be a day off for students. Teachers will have professional development.

Please plan ahead for your child(ren) and remember the daycare will be open on that day.

Religion Substitute

Mohammad Mollah has been hired to help with office work and has agreed to volunteer as a substitute for religion classes from grades 5 to 8 for the time being. This would allow me to spend more time preparing for the accreditation visit.
