The Arabic department will be having an exciting Arabic event next week from February 13-16. This event will be about the different colors to let students appreciate them, as well as practice their Arabic skills.

Monday: Pink

Tuesday: Brown

Wednesday: Purple

Feb. 6 Chuck E. Cheese’s FUNdraiser

We will be having our exciting and fun Chuck E. Cheese’s FUNdraiser party on Monday, February 6th. The event will run from 3pm to 9pm to cater to different peoples dining/family schedules. Please feel free to come when you prefer but please attend! Invite your friends and family. It allows us to enjoy each other’s company in a fun, relaxed, social, and non-academic setting!

Alhuda will receive 15% of the total submitted receipts.

On the day of the event after you purchase food and tokens please be sure to give your receipt (or copy) to the cashier and state that this is for Alhuda Academy fundraiser. Additionally during your time at Chuck E. Cheese’s, please purchase all game tokens from the front cashier so that these receipts are also submitted towards the Alhuda Fundraiser.

Jan. 30-Feb. 3 Book Fair

Alhuda Academy’s annual Book Fair is here again! During Book Fair Week your child’s class will be visiting the Book Fair each morning from Tuesday to Friday for about 20 minutes so they can discover and purchase books of interest.

Get ready for a week filled with books and fun activities for everyone:
Monday, Jan. 30: Students and teachers preview fair & Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday, Jan. 31: Dress Up Day (dress as your favorite storybook character)
Wednesday, Feb. 1: Student Poster Presentations
Thursday, Feb. 2: Tropical/Flower Shirt Day
Friday, Feb.3: Crazy Hat Day, Parents and MS read aloud to younger students, Book Fair moves to Social Hall and is open to the community, 1:30-3:30 PM: Parents shop for books with kids

Jan. 10-12 Geography Bee

Students will take part in the National Geography Bee this week. Last Thursday students had an elimination round. They were presented with 10 written questions. The questions were read to them and then they wrote the answers. All students from grades 4 to 8 had the same questions. Students who scored in the first 25 places will proceed to this week’s event. The names of students who place were announced to individual classrooms.

The Social Studies teachers have been preparing them for this event. But students have to do work on their own to be able to be among the finalists.

This week, we will have three days of Geo Bee questions during the following times:

Tuesday: 10:50-12:00
Wednesday: 8:55-10:05
Thursday: 8:15-10:00

Parents are welcome to attend.

The school finalist will also take a written test on a later date.

Please join us at the Academy this Friday, January 6th at 6 PM for our monthly Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting. Come and share your ideas and learn about upcoming activities.
