Mrs. Samar Hammad, Arabic and Islamic Studies Teacher:
B. S. in Arabic Language and Literature. Mrs. Hammad has over 26 years of experience in teaching Arabic in the U.A.E. and in British schools overseas. She has also held the posts of lead Arabic teacher and Head of Arabic Department at Alhuda Academy for three years. She has compiled books for curricula accommodation. She is in charge of Arabic library. She has formulated Arabic placement exams for all grade levels. She has organized Arabic nasheeds and plays presentations for students.
Mrs. Badiaa Begag, Grades KG to 8 Arabic and Islamic Studies Teacher:
Mrs. Begag holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from University Jean Moulin, in France. This is Mrs. Begag’s third year teaching at Alhuda Academy. Over the past three years, Mrs. Begag has been very active within the community by being a volunteer for Sunday school teaching and working a full-time job at Al-Hamra Academy as Arabic and Islamic Studies teacher for Preschool to 8th grade. Mrs. Begag holds certificates of attendance to John Collins Effective Writing and Responsive Classroom Workshops. In 2008, she received her certificate of completion of online and onsite Arabic Teacher Training Summer Program 2008 (STARTALK Program) at California State University, San Bernardino (California). The STARTALK program provides training in teaching Arabic as a second language to teachers of elementary and middle school grades. Mrs. Begag has gained a considerable experience from these workshops that allows her to implement a child teaching methodology based on respect, independence and self-confidence.
Mrs. Yamina Brahimi, Grades PK-8 Arabic Teacher:
Mrs. Brahimi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Archeology majoring in Islamic Architecture from the University of Algiers in Algeria. She has an English as Second Language degree from Lynn Community College in Lynn, MA. This is her second year teaching Arabic at Alhuda Academy. She previously was a volunteer teacher at Islamic Sunday School in Lynn, MA. She was also an Arabic teacher for seventh grade at Public Middle School of Kouba, Algiers in Algeria. She strives to establish a positive relationship with students of all ages which she believes is important for a successful school year. She is fluent in English, Arabic, and French.
