Are You Connected?
Feb 4th, 2010 | By principal | Category: NewsWhile Alhuda students are closely supervised using the Internet we are concerned about what they may be seeing outside the school.
Do you know what websites your children browse? Do they have a Gmail account or take part of a social network such as Facebook? Please stay connected to websites your children connect to. More children are using Internet tools which were initially geared toward adults, some for teenagers and college students. These Internet tools open the door to great harams including unIslamic pictures, inappropriate words, and improper bi-gender relationships.
If you don’t know how your child spends his time on the computer, ask him. Consider putting family rules for appropriate time of use and Internet access choices. Consider placing a filter or a child protection mechanism on your computer.
Harms from unsupervised use of Internet are real especially at the elementary and middle school ages. Teach your child to be aware of Internet predators as well as community friends who abuse the guidelines of Allah through the use of the Internet.
