Alhuda in a Week
Nov 19th, 2009 | By principal | Category: NewsIt has been a busy week. Here’s a highlight of the most important events:
On Monday, students received their report cards. Preschool and KG progress reports were sent on Tuesday. Please take the time to read them thoroughly before you come in for the conferences tomorrow. Both report cards and progress reports should be signed and returned to the teachers right away.
Dr. Kingston also visited our school on Monday as a pre-visit from the accreditation committee. Dr. Kingston made many positive comments. The visit was a positive and informative opportunity in preparation for the March visit.
On Tuesday, students from grades 5 to 8 took the AMC8 test. Thanks to Mrs. Nayfeh and Mr. Toropov who helped proctor the test. A special thanks goes to Ms. Siddiqua for leading this effort. We will receive the results in a few weeks.
Wednesday was the 1st of Thul-Hijjah. Students have been making plans for a great amount of good deeds during these blessed days. Please encourage your child to limit the time spent on TV and other electronic games and to fulfill the plan s/he has set for themselves.
Wednesday was also the day students visited the Eid tables. Eid tables have a collection of gifts for different prices. Please encourage your child to think of his siblings, distant relatives, classmates, and Muslim and Non-Muslim neighbors. Eid tables will be available until Nov. 25th. Some of the items had been donated by the Zakaria family. May Allah bless your family for your generosity.
Today, students from the middle school debated the use of electronics in the school. All presenters demonstrated good public speaking skills such as making eye contact, using body language, and minimizing reading. Sixth grade students won!
