Alhuda Academy has planned an intensive program in preparation for the first 10 days of Thul-Hijjah and Eid. Mrs. Hammad, with the help of Mrs. Begag, has planned the following Hajj-related activities during the coming days and a Hajj simulation on the 25th of November. In addition, Eid tables will take place from 18 to 25 of November. Students can dress up for classroom parties on December 3rd, the first day back from Eid vacation.

Mrs. Shakir is planning to go on her Hajj journey. Please make Duaa’ she has an easy and rewarding experience. Ms. Shamem will be substituting for her during this time.

Please read on for more details on the planned activities:

The first ten days of Thul Hijjah is a time for additional acts of worship and abundant responses to the calls from Allah. Alhuda students will, ISA, celebrate these days and the days of Eid. Many activities have been planned for the 10 days to provide students with the additional opportunities to practice acts of worship to Allah. At the same time, our students will learn about Hajj and have a big celebration.

Here is a summary of the planned activities:

• Daily Takbeerat during morning assembly, in addition to stories and quizzes about Hajj.

• From Wednesday November 18 through November 25, we will focus on four different acts of worship: charity, fasting, Bir of parents, and memorization of the Ayah of Hajj.

Every day we will encourage students to fulfill each act of worship with the hope of additional rewards for these blessed days.

Wednesday, November 25 will be the most festive day:

• Boys will wear two white Ihram sheets, girls will wear white clothing, such as, a white scarf, dress, salah clothes, or abaya.

• Teachers will explain the steps of Hajj and the acts of worship pilgrims practice during their journeys.

• Students from grades 6 to 8 will present about Hajj to younger grades.

• Some classes will have simulated Hajj places and rituals.

• Students from Pre-k to 8th grade will visit the classes and will go on a simulated Hajj journey. This will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

By providing this intense Hajj celebrating program, we hope that Alhuda Academy students will feel the blessing of this month and will learn from the many lessons that the Hajj experience provides Muslims. As usual, we are aiming to provide a balanced learning and fun activity week. May Allah accept from us all and bless our students.
