Qur’an Recitation with Tajweed classes

Alhuda Academy is pleased to announce the after school Qur’an Recitation program. The aim of this program is to equip our children with the skills to recite the Qur’an with proper pronunciation, apply the rules of Tajweed and develop a set of basic Qur’anic vocabulary. Through this program, we hope our students will experience the joy of reading the Qur’an and will cultivate a closer relationship with Allah’s words.

Here are some details about the program:

- The one hour class will be held every Tuesday and Thursday of the week.
- The class will start at 3:30pm and end at 4:30pm.
- The instructor for the class is Br. Muzzammil.
- Maximum class size is 10 students.
- The cost for the class is $40 per month per child. 8 monthly postdated checks are required at the time of registration (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May).
- The cost of the book is $15, which will be handed out at the time of registration.
- Parents are required to pick up their children from school at 4:30pm.
- If your child will be absent or late to the class please call Br. Muzzammil one day in advance at 774-641-6102.
- When the school is closed due to inclement weather or other reasons the after school program will also be closed for that day.

After School Sports Program:

Alhuda Academy is starting its afterschool fall basketball program for the duration of 6 weeks. Students from grades 2 to 8 can register for this program for $60 per child with a $10 discount for additional siblings. The program is held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. It will start October 20th and will finish November 24th. Please inquire in the office.

TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS: We will hold Tryouts for Spring Travel Teams on Sunday November 8th at Farber Field…check out the TRAVEL section of www.wysl.org for time slots. Current Travel Team players, please let your Coach know whether you will be playing next season.

VOLUNTEERS-VOLUNTEERS-VOLUNTEERS: Thankfully, this past season has seen MORE PLAYERS than over the past several years…that’s a good thing…and EVEN MORE REASON TO VOLUNTEER some of your time to help us on the Board, or as a Coordinator (Equipment, Volunteer, Field, Referee), or in any number of other ways. We need YOU to step up and give a little bit of your time, perhaps before or after games to put-out equipment or put-away and clean-up.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: We will have our Annual General Meeting on Monday October 19th at the Armory on Skyline Dr. at 7pm. This is when we have elections for Board positions that are opening up OR for spots that are already vacant… check out www.wysl.org -> Board section for listings…and we also give a “State of the League” report.
